WWWar II

At the web 2.0 conference Marc Andreessen, founder of Netscape is quoted as saying “It may turn out that there’s a one-two punch with Firefox and Safari – Microsoft is certainly going to respond competitively.” This is headlined on various news sites as a cue that another browser war is upon us. Like any war, [...]

“Throwing Tables Out the Window”

Douglas Bowman hits it hard with his new article Throwing Tables Out the Window. Basically Mr. Bowman retooled the Microsoft home page to a standards complient CSS design while lecturing at Digital Design World in Seattle (and no, I didn’t go). His work simplifies the size and compatibility of the MS site, thereby reducing development [...]

Requiem for the anonymous artist

I am actively producing several audio and video projects simultaneously, while holding a full-time job doing some video, lots of technical support and chunks of graphic design and layout. And it is all moving glacially slow – so much so that new ideas have to wait and old ones get pushed or rushed. It’s quite frustrating. [...]

4th Gen iPods

Hey, updated iPods hit the market today, but still no decent audio recording features, so I still don’t want one (as much). That makes it seem like the iPod is purely a consumer product and that real recording is still a “pro” feature even though it exists on some of the competing players out there [...]

Let the experiments commence…

OK, so now I’ve sort of fully turned on the Moveable Type part of the site, and moved all this sort of personal rambling to this page you see here. It’s late and I’ve gone ahead and uploaded this after only testing the changes in Safari and Mozilla — and I KNOW there is gonna [...]

Merrily moving forward like a slug…

I’ve slowly been addressing all the big holes in this site, in tiny increments as I’ve still been tweaking and establishing my recently moved studio. It’s pathetic that I haven’t spent much time here this past year – but I’m loaded with projects that would look great on the site if I can ever finish [...]

Reagan

Reagan dies, and though any death is sad the mourning is deafening and wearisome. Apparently people have a very shallow memory of some of what transpired during the eighties. Ray Charles passed away as well and is getting minimal coverage with all the festivities. Sadder still.
